Work: Called to Bar, 1902; served European War in RNVR, 1914-1919, in HMS Cyclops and at Naval Barracks, Buncrana; Board of Education (O Branch), 1919-1920; resumed practice at Bar, 1920; Bencher, Middle Temple, 1943. Chairman: Board of Trade Patents Cttee, 1944; Dep. Chairman of Royal Commission on Awards to Inventors, 1946; Chairman of Special Cttee Southern Province under Reorganization Areas Measure (1944), 1947; President of British Sailors' Soc., 1959 (Chairman, 1940-1959); President, Royal Skating Club, 1955.
