A maximum of 10/- per week was allowed as pocket money. This money was forwarded to the Captain Superintendent either (a) as the whole sum which was required whilst at the school (£8), or by (b) the weekly amount to be paid to the boys. It was particularly requested that postal orders sent weekly should not be crossed. They should be made payable to the boy himself, and would be given to him at the weekly payment on Fridays.
The above table has been reproduced from Captain Colin Vine's 'Pocket Money Register'. All records pertaining to the Prince of Wales Sea Training School have either been destroyed or lost. However Captain Colin Vine thankfully retained the register on his retirement. He has since donated it to the society. If you would like a scan of your page entry please click here.
