I was at PWSTS in 1971. I joined Federal Steam Navigation / New Zealand Shipping Company and sailed with Richard Cook (we were the only deck boys in that intake at PWSTS). Other companies I worked for included Shaw Savill, P & O, Furness Withy and Atlantic Steam Navigation. I left the sea at the end of 1977.

I then Joined the Surrey Fire Brigade and worked as a Fireman until 1984. I then emigrated to Perth, Western Australia. I ran a small business for several years until I joined the Western Australian Ambulance Service.

I now work as a Paramedic.
