Served with P&O on the Oronsay when she was scraped moved onto VLCC's with Esso and then signed with BP end up on river class ships based in the Gulf as GP1.

Came ashore in 81 to marry. Moved into the exhibition and conference industry - now work for a US publishing Company based In Ohio USA Managing Trade Show in the US, Far East and Europe.

My time at sea was the best ever and I still miss it today - My time at the PWSTS was not, I still have the scares on my bottom from the caning I got for smoking from the then Captain - what a different world we live in today, I no longer smoke either!

I too went to look at the old place in the Mid 90's it stood empty and looking very tired- If anybody does read this and has been back recently perhaps they could e-mail to let me know what became of the old place.

It all seems so long ago now but it was good to find this web site - keep up the good work .
