I think I joined in July 1960, after completing my watch I joined the Oriana in October 1960 in Barrow Furness shipping yards.
Spent the next nine years at sea spending a major part of my time with Blue Star Shipping. My last trip was in August 1968 when I left England and flew out to New Zealand. My plan was to spend a year working in New Zealand and then return to England and the sea, but I am still here.
Have a great life, married with two sons and Dion has followed in my foot steps and is a 2nd Eng with Mersk Shipping.
