I remember most of the lads in my class, and am still in touch with one of them,
and would like to hear from anyone who remembers me.
Done 4 years with B.P. Tankers, (E.R. boy to mechanic)
Mechanic with Blue Star Line until 1977.
1977 to 1979, Leith Nautical College, rating to officer course, (sponsored by
the British Shipping Federation).
1979 to 1980, engineer with Comben & Longstaff Shipping Company.
1980 to 1985, engineer with Cunard Steam Ship Co Ltd.
1985 to 1992, working ashore as maintenance fitter.
1992 to 1994, engineer with P&OCL.
1994 to 1996, engineer with Thames Water.
1996 to present, engineer with Stena Line, (now P&O Ferries).
Managed to get a Class 1 Motor & Class 2 Steam, after years of endless study and
scratching my head!
