This was taken on the Loch Gowan 1966. The ship was taking American Army armaments from Hamburg to San Francisco. We were informed that the were to be reconditioned then onto Vietnam. I can not remember any of their names but on the right the guy came from Great Yarmouth and he intended to be a driver in the North Sea. I stayed at his parents house while I took my EHD ticket. The guy on his right fell down a hatch when docked in Frisco and sustained severe injuries to his legs.

Port Hobart - The photo was taken on No5 hatch some where in the Pacific, March 1964. I’m at the back third from the right with a mug of tea. On the right is Peter Ives. We were at PWSTS together. In the front in a white T shirt Burno. To the left of him the two Taffs. In the black shirt Moby. To the right of him Squires. Not on the photo were some AB’s that had been torpedoed in the war. After a few rums they would talk about it. Horrendous times. Are we not the lucky ones.

Manapouri - The photos were taken in Bluff New Zealand 1971. State of the art loading conveyors. They were needed with all that rain . Even snow at times.
