Wage Slip
My very first wage slip, following my first
voyage as a
Deck Boy on the "Northumberland" from Hull to Hamburg and then back to
London. As you can see I was away for just 14 days and picked up £7.90
having also taken £5 in cash in Hamburg - I was rolling in money!
After a few days leave at home I subsequently returned to the
Northumberland in Victoria Dock and made my first "Foreign Going"
voyage, 6 months and 6 days, to New Zealand and back, in her.
