Derek Smith Joined NZ Shipping Co. Tekoa for her maiden voyage with Jeremy Garrard. We both worked by on the Rangetane before joining RMS Arlanza. Jeremy went ashore then and moved to Australia shortly after. I made four more trips as SOS then moved over to Amazon and was on the Union Castle Charter to South Africa before she was transferred to Shaw Saville as the Akaroa. I now miss telling "When I was at sea stories" amongst my hobbies and interests. |
